Fluer Li'klen served as Galactic Alliance Chief of State during the Trials of Iridonia crisis.
History[]
Born on Caamas, Fluer Li'klen was born into a astute upper class family. At an early age, he was devoutly set on being a famous musician but troubles at the university led him to change his career path to politics. He worked as aide, then as an adviser to the Caamasi senator until one day it was his turn to fill the seat. He served an amazing 45 years as the senator for Caamas and at the age of 80 he became the Chief of State of the Galactic Alliance. Unfortunately he also inherited a crisis. The previous Chief of State,Whok Turne, had been assassinated. The Iridonians demanded that the group responsible by executed. Fluer was an ardent pacifist and a staunch opponent of capital punishment. He refused to give in to their demands.
Then the Jedi discovered that Black Sun had a fleet forming above Nal Hutta. Fluer tried to take action to prevent a possible conflict but his diplomatic maneuvers were useless. The Black Sun fleet rolled across the Outer Rim waging destruction as they went. Helpless to stop the onslaught, Fluer turned to the Jedi for help. The Jedi agreed to go after the head of Black Sun, Kire Arland, and attempt his arrest. During the Battle of Iridonia, the Jedi successfully nabbed Arland and they were able to bring him to justice. Black Sun was forced to surrender at the battle and the war was effectively ended. Arland and the Black Sun Vigos were tried and imprisoned on Carcel despite Iridonia's pleas that they be executed. Fluer's refusal to give in to Iridonia's demands further alienated them from the rest of the galaxy.
When Fluer's term ended, he ran for re-election and lost. He retired from politics altogether and returned to Caamas were he lived out the rest of his days.
Legacy[]
The Li'klen name reappeared in Galactic politics when Klau Li'klen, grand nephew to Fluer, was elected Chief of State of the GA in 275 ABY.
Personality and Traits[]
Fluer was a pacifist and a staunch opponent of capital punishment. He was also very stubborn and compassionate. As Chief of State of the Galactic Alliance, he was as well liked as he was hated.
